The product works but actually boils the egg: you put water in a metal container that prevents the microwave from reaching the egg, the water heats up and when the steam comes out through the holes, it cooks the egg. It takes about 5 minutes.

These egg cookers should replace my 15 year old one. These are of poor quality. The housing is slippery and the lid has to be twisted to remove. That is not doable when hot. The bottom metal shield sticks to the lid and is hard to remove, also not doable when hot.
Unusable item, thrown away after the first use.

Beware! This egg cooker has a metal insert that causes power surges in modern microwaves. My samsung microwave (2024 model) went completely dead immediately after starting. I had to disconnect it from power for 10 minutes to reset the safety lockout. The metal parts with perforations create electrical interference. Do not use unless you want to risk blowing your microwave’s internal fuse or damaging the magnetron

There is no place to hold the screw-on lid when taking it out of the microwave, you get burned and it’s very difficult to open it; you have to wait a long time, not to mention the condition in which the packaging arrived.
When I went to take it out of the microwave, I ended up with a burn; it’s missing a handle or element that would allow it to be removed without the risk of burns.

This hold 4 large eggs at once. It has cooking instructions printed on the box for 500w and 600w microwaves. Instructions vary from 7-11 minutes, depending how well cooked you want the eggs. Cook less than the recommended time. I have a more powerful microwave, so i chose the minimum 7 minutes to be safe. At 6.5 minutes, one egg exploded so hard that the lid popped off and cooked egg covered the insides of my microwave.
You can use large eggs, but xl are a tight fit. Remember to fill the water to the line. Using this cooker is faster than boiling water, and you don’t need to remember to turn off the stove in time, but the eggs and cooker will both be extremely hot when done and you cannot submerge the cooker in cold water to cool the eggs faster. This cooker is not instant, nor does it poach eggs, but it does make hard-boiling up to 4 large eggs extremely easy, and safer for forgetful people.
My price was €7.21 with coupons, and i am happy with the purchase.
